Joseph Orie, MD

Dr. Joseph Orie graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Science Professional Degree in 1982.  He then attended Georgetown University Graduate School where he earned a Master's Degree in Immunoelectron Microscopy.  Dr. Orie continued his education at Georgetown University Medical School and received his degree in 1988.  He went on to complete a three-year pediatric residency in his hometown at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 1991.  Dr. Orie then pursued his lifelong dream of becoming a pediatric cardiologist and completed his cardiology fellowship at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in 1994. 

 

Dr. Orie moved to Buffalo, NY upon completion of his training in 1994 and has been a pediatric cardiologist in the Western New York area for the past 20 years; he has been with Pediatric Cardiology Associates since their inception in 2000.  Dr. Orie has been providing outstanding care for patients with congenital heart defects from birth to adulthood and his expertise in fetal echocardiography enables him to also diagnose cardiac defects in the unborn child, allowing Dr. Orie to care for and counsel expectant mothers.

 

Dr. Orie is a member of the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Society of Echocardiography.

 

Dr. Orie is active on staff and cares for patients at the Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo, Sisters of Charity Hospital, South Buffalo Mercy Hospital, Olean General Hospital, WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY, Niagara Falls Memorial Center, United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia, NY and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

 

Dr. Orie was a founding member and serves on the board for Dreams From The Heart Camp.  The camp was created in 1994 for children with severe congenital heart disease, many of whom are limited and unable to participate in camps designed for "healthy" children.  Dr. Orie attends and actively participates in the 4-day camp every year and enjoys seeing the children canoeing, swimming, fishing, participating in arts and crafts, and many more activities.

 

Dr. Orie has been married 20 years to his wife Kathy, who is a pediatric nurse, and they have four wonderful daughters.  Their home is in Orchard Park, NY.

Glenn Leonard, Jr., MD

Dr. Glenn Leonard is a congenital cardiologist who specializes in interventional procedures.  Dr. Leonard has been part of Pediatric Cardiology Associates (PCA) of WNY since 2006.  Prior to joining PCA, Dr. Leonard was an attending physician at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. from 2004 to 2006. He received his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, WI in 1997 and completed his pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY in 2000.  Dr. Leonard completed his congenital cardiology fellowship at the University of Florida, in Gainesville, FL in 2003 and did an interventional training year at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, TX in 2004.

 

Dr. Leonard currently practices several days a week in the main office located on Delaware Avenue and has performed his interventional procedures throughout WNY in Buffalo (GVI, South Buffalo Mercy), Rochester (Strong Memorial Hospital) and Syracuse (Crouse Hospital).

 

Dr. Leonard is married and has 3 children.  His wife, Susan, is a certified pediatric nurse practitioner and is a native of the Buffalo area having grown up in North Tonawanda.

Rebecca Pratt, MD

Dr. Rebecca Pratt is a native of Upstate New York having been raised in Rochester.  She graduated from SUNY University at Buffalo as a mathematics major and chemistry minor.  She then attended SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY where she received her medical degree.  Dr. Pratt completed her pediatric residency in Rochester and remained there to complete her pediatric cardiology fellowship.

 

Dr. Pratt began working with PCA in the summer of 2014.  She cares for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease from the fetal period into adulthood in PCA's main office.  She is also on staff at the local area hospitals.  She has a special interest in echocardiography, particular fetal echocardiography. 

 

Dr. Pratt and her husband, Kevin, live in Clarence with their two daughters.
